Tinolang manok one of my
favorite Filipino dish. I like the combination of ginger and the chili pepper
leaves which adds greatly on the soothing taste of the dish. I love to eat it
during rainy days and whenever I am not feeling well.. :) Some add green papaya
on it, but I just like sayote instead of papaya because of it's sweet taste. If
you want to try this, see below for the ingredients and cooking instruction.
Ingredients:
- Chicken (cut into serving pcs.)
- Chilli pepper leaves
- Sayote or green papaya ( cut into wedges)
- Garlic
- Onion
- Ginger
- Tomato
- Fish sauce
- Salt
Cooking Instruction:
- Saute the garlic, onion, tomato and ginger.
- Put in the chicken and cook until the color turns light
brown.
- Add sayote and fish sauce. Pour in water and let it
boil for about 25 minutes.
- Add chilli pepper leaves and salt to taste.
- Let it simmer for another 3 minutes.
- Serve hot! :)
