Tinolang Manok " Chicken Ginger Stew"

Tinolang manok one of my favorite Filipino dish. I like the combination of ginger and the chili pepper leaves which adds greatly on the soothing taste of the dish. I love to eat it during rainy days and whenever I am not feeling well.. :) Some add green papaya on it, but I just like sayote instead of papaya because of it's sweet taste. If you want to try this, see below for the ingredients and cooking instruction.

Ingredients:
  • Chicken (cut into serving pcs.)
  • Chilli pepper leaves
  • Sayote or green papaya ( cut into wedges)
  • Garlic
  • Onion
  • Ginger
  • Tomato
  • Fish sauce
  • Salt

Cooking Instruction:
  • Saute the garlic, onion, tomato and ginger.
  • Put in the chicken and cook until the color turns light brown.
  • Add sayote and fish sauce. Pour in water and let it boil for about 25 minutes.
  • Add chilli pepper leaves and salt to taste.
  • Let it simmer for another 3 minutes.
  • Serve hot! :)
